Not Drones operates in a fast-growing but increasingly competitive consumer drone market, where generic performance campaigns quickly lose efficiency as spend scales.

The challenge was not simply driving traffic, but converting distinct buyer motivations — gifting, professional upgrades, and travel use — into qualified orders without letting acquisition costs spiral.

To achieve this, Not Drones partnered with Digidarts to build a persona-led performance marketing framework focused on funnel efficiency, creative relevance, and sustainable scale.

Objective

To build a scalable acquisition engine by:

  • Driving qualified orders across distinct customer personas
  • Improving CPL, CAC, and ROAS as spend scaled
  • Increasing AOV through targeted upsell to existing customers
  • Establishing a sustainable, multi-channel framework for long-term growth

Our Approach

We began with a structured, low-spend testing phase to identify which audiences and creative angles could generate real, qualified orders before committing a budget at scale.

Campaigns were optimized around the complete buyer journey:

Click → View → Add to Cart → Purchase → Upgrade

This ensured acquisition efforts aligned directly with revenue and repeat-purchase outcomes, not just top-of-funnel traffic.

Dedicated creative and targeting strategies were developed around:
  • Parents buying drones as gifts and creative outlets for their kids
  • Photographers looking to upgrade their equipment
  • Travel enthusiasts seeking drones for travel documentation and content
Tailored video assets were produced for each persona, aligning message and tone to their specific motivation, rather than running one generic ad across all audiences.

Customers who had purchased a lower-AOV product in the last 6 months were re-targeted with tailored upgrade offers pointing them toward higher-AOV products.

Top-performing locations for new customer acquisition were identified and scaled through dedicated, location-specific campaigns.

Performance was continuously validated using:
  • ROAS and CAC tracking by campaign and persona
  • AOV monitoring across upsell segments
  • Branded vs. Non-Branded Performance Max segmentation on Google
  • Month-on-month spend-to-order efficiency checks
This helped maintain efficiency while scaling spend aggressively.
